The story of Bade Ache Lagte Hain is centered around a mid aged Priya, who is unmarried and happy with her life. She is attending college and believes she might never get married until she met the 40 year old Ram Kapoor who similarly believes he might stay unmarried.
They are both pressurized by friends and family to get married but neither of them are able to find that someone that suits them. After getting to know each other somewhat, both of them realize that both of their siblings are in love with each other.
